There are two units of General surgery fully equipped to function round the clock, headed by eminent surgeon Dr. Suresh Cherian (Formerly of Lissi Hospital Ernakulam). The unit is capable of meeting any surgical conditions.
Laproscopic surgeries and Diagnostic
Endoscopy are performed daily. The S.I.C.U. is well set and is well

The department completed its 10 years service in 2005.
No man is born healthy or ill. As each individual is the product of the interaction between heredity and environment his psychological health too depends on both these factors. Disharmony an impersonality prevail all areas of life. As a result both child and adult invariably becomes a prey of stress and strain. Psychological ill health, sexual abuse and substance abuse have become a threat to the world of little minds too. Taking into consideration these factors Holy Family Hospital started the mental health department for child and adult in 1995 October. |

Method of treatment |
Mainly the treatment is done using psychological means and psychopharmacology therapy. Therapeutic tutoring, somato-psychic therapy, group therapies are also used for the improvement of mental health. More than treatment the integrated cure and growth of the person are the aim of all interventions.
A team headed by Dr.Sr.Shalu Koikara B.C.H.M.S; Ph.D; M.D.C.M. is working in the department. Dr. Shalu apart from being an expert clinician in the field of child mental health is the author of several books and contributes to different magazines and dailies in the form of articles. She has presented papers in national and international conferences. She won awards for her accomplishments and service in the mental health field. She is a lecturer in the Holy Family College of Nursing and apart from that conducts seminars and workshops for different groups like students (schools, colleges etc.), teachers, parents and different organizations. She is a well known orator too. |
